i dont care if the graffiti is Zimbabwean. it all looks nice. i used to go up onto the tracks in Finchley, london, and draw on electrical boxes. now i thank god he gave me some sense over the years.
Obviously he is talented but I can't always read the letters he has painted. That doesn't even address the fact that he is causing thousands of dollars worth of damage every time he paints. Why should taxpayers have to pay for his canvasses? It's a criminal act.
I agree with above: this is a criminal act. I also don't think that the person in question is all that talented as it just isn't visually appealing. It's ugly, and it encourages other people to leave their "mark" as well, which just propagates the problem.
wat u lookin at a graff site if u dont like graff... growin up on london tubes, the only thing which made my journey worth it to school in the morning was lookin at the new graff. if u dont like it dont look at it, its not like every tube carridge of e ery train has pieces, just respect the ones which do get done wth all the security now days.
i like it. i think it's beautiful. i'm a bit strange. i'm an artist too. i would never do any graffiti because it's illegal. however, i do like to photograph it when i have the opportunity. i don't like the way graffiti looks on private homes and fences, but i do like the way it looks on trains and walls. if i was mayor of a city, i would designate large area's just for graffiti artists, like trains, and the walls along freeways, etc. empty buildings would become museums before they were torn down. every inch would be painted, then photographed. i think that working with young artists instead of against them can only benefit our community as a whole. this world is big enough to share with everyone. people need to try and have more open minds. it could be worse. if our species was more olfactory driven, like dogs, the walls would be running with piss to see who could piss the highest. that would be rather unsanitary. it's just a bit of harmless paint. i say, let the boys have there fun. i'm not trying to be sexiest, but i do get the impression that most graffiti artist are young men. i suppose that breaking the law is part of the fun of it, so quite possibly my ideas would not work. it's worth a try. we can all at least attempt to understand each other. perhaps i'm just to idealistic to believe otherwise.
No real writers give a shit about societies opinion of them, nor have any concern for the concequences of their actions, this indeed makes us criminals but that in itself is part of what graff is about. Some arty fags like banksy see graff for more reasons than one (like scoring dollar) but for the majority of writers, graff is a lifestlye not a game. And the only way to win is to be up as much as possible! SIMPLE. THe more illegal and risky places your up, the more respect you have, and thats what its all about respect, so no matter what the govenment, police or the public concern themselves trying to either understand, prevent or enforce change, no writers are even paying attention cos we're all to busy thinking about the next yard to get hit.
Just get on with your lifes and leave graff to itself.
