Barcode tattoos aren't uncommon any more. UPC barcodes are the most common bar code tattoo subjects and barcode tats are often found on the back of people's necks.
Some believe barcode tattoos to be a sign of the apocalypse speculated about in the Christian Bible which states people will "receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark of the beast". I personally do not agree with the mythological connection, but imagined what the sinister mark might look like. I use Code 128 style encryption to make temporary barcodes tattoos that can be scanned. I sell packs with the phrases: SLAVE, HUMAN, TATTOO, PRODUCT, FOR SALE, SCAN ME.

Barcodes are a discontinued model.
Their barcode-tattoos will last longer than this technology...
Anybody remember that show Dark Angel with Jessica Alba. I think that's what had started that barcode trend...but the show failed....hmmm bet you're all regretting it now!!
Ever hear of a movie called Teminator? They rounded up the humans into a camp and branded them with barcodes (similar to the serial number the Nazis used). That probably predates Dark Angel, by around, umm, a decade.
Funny how, as I was looking over the pics, some of them stood out as obviously NOT real tats, and then at the end I found out that those are the ones you are selling!
Barcode tats are old. But fake barcode tats are lame.

i think that u are missing the point here, its not just a tattoo but its more of a message. saying something to the degree of how ununique and conformest driven we are becoming. about how ideas and people can be bought, sold, and what ever else u can do with a product. and as for the bible... fuck the bible, all of these end of the world prophies were really about the time in which they were written. for real, go research the damn thing and if thats not for u the history chanel has a pretty good special on it too. god bless
Has anyone here read the book The Bar Code Tattoo By Suzanne Weyn? Creepy.
It's set only a few years in the future and frankly, when you look at the way we're pushing for the newest this and the latest that... its actually conceivable that someday everyone will have a barcode. Wont you feel stupid when they scan you in and insteave of Joe Smith Age 32 it pulls up Extra Large Depends or some other random item?

It won't be a barcode. It will be an implant. Small. Put in when you're born, I'll assume. Or when you have your first vaccinations. Won't even know they're there.
we i cant believe people would think we get these tattoo's from movies or t.v. show or the bible.. we do it to make a statement that we are being controlled and need to wake up and make a change. do some research for once instead of just watching these movies and t.v.!
I'm thinking about getting one. They are amazing. I know a bazillion people that have them and a lot of them are my friends.

i'm going to get a bar code tattooed soon enough...i'm doing it because it proves i do have my own identity and my own price, and to remember that everyone else does too and that they all have just as much worth as well. but, despite that fact, the bar code represents the point that everyone is held down and controlled in some shape, way, or form. in the bible, it talks about the mark of the beast, 666, being marked upon people, so bar codes have nothing to do with the bible. and even if bar codes are never heard of 20, 50, 100 years from now or whatever, it'll only be more cool to have one cuz it'll stir up questions about what your tat means and stuff.

Haha, if you want to prove you have your own identity, pick your own tattoo, not one that's been done a thousand times!
And yeah, my bf did a barcode tattoo and it scanned...it was the code for some sort of soap. They had just copied a code off a package lying around the tattoo shop. If it isn't done well, it won't scan, obviously.
bar codes are for products no tattoos as they all look pish...
