A team of LEGO and sports enthusiasts presented a LEGO model of some of the buildings built by the Chinese for the 2008 Olympic Games. The model was presented in Hong Kong and includes small scale replicas of buildings such as Bird’s Nest stadium, Water Cube swimming center and the Olympic Village.
The LEGO Beijing Olympics were created by members of the Hong Kong LEGO users group and took more than 100 hours to complete. Great effort, the model looks amazing.

Yeah, um, screw the guy that said "DEMOCRACY". I am very proud that China got the bid (I'm American, and I'm a Democrat, too), and that they did the best opening ceremonies EVER. Not to mention they're going to reuse the stadiums for other sporting events - unlike Athens, whose buildings are locked up tighter than anything. The Chinese had 15,000 people in the opening ceremonies, none of them used twice, and over 100,000 volunteers - they're trying to look good, people! And they're doing a damn good job! Good for them. And come on, these LEGOs took 100 hours to build! And they're proud of their country, they're proud of they're people, and yes they are proud of their Olympians. And I'm proud to be a part of the several billion people watch it.
